Calling all soccer superstars, basketballers and fast bowlers! Read on!
Soccer Superstars
At Aston Homes we’re big supporters of two things: the strong community spirit in the areas in which we build, and teamwork! We love how both of these things combine on the soccer field. Though we’re currently sponsoring Lalor United Sloga Football Club and Diamond Valley United Soccer Club, we’re not (that) biased! There are plenty of local soccer teams for all ages and abilities to try out in Melbourne’s north and west. Whether you’re in it for fun or for some serious competition, check out this handy Melbourne-wide soccer directory here.
Basketball and Netballers
Mill Park Basketball Stadium is where you’ll find the some great local ball sports if you’re a northern suburbs local. Mill Park Basketball Stadium is also the home of the Whittlesea Pacers, a team that specialises in developing kids from under 12s through to under 20s to play state-wide. Older players can also try out the seniors’ team. For our Westies, there’s plenty of perfectly primed courts awaiting your best dribble or pivot! From Hoppers Crossing Junior Basketball Club to Werribee Centrals Netball Club there’s sure to be sports centre to suit your skills and postcode. Find Wyndham City Council’s full sporting directory here.
Racquet Revelers
Northsiders, a hit of tennis at Hume Tennis and Community Centre is a great way to stay fit, meet new people and (the best part) you don’t have to be a member to play! Whether a weeknight or a Sunday morning session suits you best, the social tournaments at Hume are a great way to get into the swing of things. They also serve up a great Summer Holiday Program for to suit all ages. Westsiders will find the same hospitality at Hopper’s Crossing Tennis Club and Laverton Park Tennis Club.
For fast bowlers, fielders, swimmers and skaters – there’s a game, pool or rink ready for you too. No matter your sport, the communities where Aston Homes build are perfectly placed to help you work up a sweat!
